This interview with Jill Clifford, President, FreightPlus; Member, Board of Trustees was originally published in the 2025/2026 edition of our Call to Care magazine.

How did you become involved with Croí Health?
After attending The 12 with family as a guest, I later toured the Pat Roche Hospice Home and was so impressed. I knew I wanted to learn more—and do more. As I became increasingly involved and continued to learn about the wonderful work Croí Health does in the community, I made the choice to join the Board of Trustees in 2021.
What has been your experience since becoming a Board of Trustees member?
An unexpected benefit is connecting with leaders in the region who are also serving on the Board. Honestly, I don’t think our paths would have crossed otherwise. We are united by our belief in the cause, and then other opportunities surface.
Has your role as a leader shaped your perspective of Croí Health’s own leadership?
Perspective is so important. Years of dedication have taken me through to where I am today at FreightPlus. In seeing a leader like Renee who followed a similar trajectory—nurse to CEO, in her case—I am reminded that reaching this point is best achieved by believing strongly in a mission. I see it as my responsibility to wholeheartedly stand alongside that belief with an understanding of the work needed to sustain it.
Croí Health has been known by other names in the past. What do you feel is the key to growing a brand while still honoring a legacy?
When you provide a service that people have long relied upon and trusted your organization to deliver with care, it is exciting to be able to better align your brand with innovations that have taken place over the course of many years. A new name invites the public to come along with you on the journey. And when your mission is strong, the message is clear.
