Bereavement

Bereavement Programs to Support You

Croí Health’s bereavement services provide the psychological, emotional, and spiritual care needed during life’s difficult transition after a loved one’s passing. Families and caregivers can trust us to deliver a continuum of care through a supportive bereavement program. Care can benefit those who’ve lost a loved one through hospice as well as community members grieving independently for 13 months after the loss.

Bereavement Support Groups

Understanding Your Grief Support Group

“Understanding Your Grief” is a group that will meet for 5 sessions and is most appropriate for those within the first year of a significant loss. This group is based primarily on the work of Dr. Alan Wolfelt, author, educator, and grief counselor. Participation in this group will help you answer questions like:

“Am I going crazy?”

“Am I the only one who feels this way?”

“Will these feelings ever go away?”

This group will help normalize your experience of the pain of loss and bring meaning to the process of healing.

Dates: Meets weekly on Thursdays from February 12-March 12, 2026

Time: 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

*This group is currently full. Those interested in participating in this group in the future may contact Cynthia Stanton, Croí Health Bereavement Coordinator at (781) 659-2342 x 311.

Finding Meaning in Grief Support Group

As we mourn the loss of a loved one, we experience our grief shifting and changing shape. Sometimes in later grief, a deeper meaning arises and our lives have more direction and purpose. This support group will explore this potential as we share how the grief experience deepens over time. We will share our grief stories, support one another, and explore the ways our grief has changed us and is moving us forward in life.

This group requires its participants to have attended at least one other grief support group and is designed for those farther down the road of the loss experience.

Those interested in participating may contact Cynthia Stanton, Croí Health Bereavement Coordinator at (781) 659-2342 x 311 or cstanton@croihealth.org. Space is limited.

Dates: March 10, 17, 24, and 31, 2026.

Time: 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

What Color is Your Grief Workshop

Grief doesn’t always come with words. Sometimes it shows up as a feeling, a mood, or even a color.

Join us for a gentle, 90-minute workshop that invites you to explore your grief through color, reflection, and shared conversation — no artistic skill required. This is not an art class, and there is no “right” way to participate. Simple materials, guided prompts, and supportive discussion make this experience accessible to everyone, including those who don’t consider themselves creative.

Together, we’ll explore how color can help express what grief feels like in the body and the heart, offering new language for experiences that can be hard to name. You are welcome to participate at your own pace, share as much or as little as feels comfortable, and simply be present with others who understand loss.

Those interested in participating may contact Cynthia Stanton, Croí Health Bereavement Coordinator at (781) 659-2342 x 311 or cstanton@croihealth.org. Space is limited.
