A century of excellence.

Our story continues.

Just a new name.

At Croí Health, previously NVNA and Hospice, our mission is simple: to provide compassionate, high-quality care for patients and families, wherever they call home. We are an independent nonprofit serving 27 towns for over 100 years. Our team is deeply rooted in local relationships and community partnerships, with a shared commitment to clinical excellence and expanding patient care access.

In December, our organization will have a new name: Croí Health. Our current name reflects our past, and by the end of 2025, we will no longer be known as NVNA and Hospice. Our new name will take us into the future, reflecting all that we do, and our commitment to growth.

Why are we changing our name?

Over the past 17 years since “Hospice” was added to our name, we have grown our services to include palliative care, open the Pat Roche Hospice Home, and expand our service territory to 27 towns in our region. Our goal is for our brand to represent the scope of care we offer today and not limit ourselves as our service offerings continue to grow.

What does Croí mean?

Croí (pronounced “CROY”) is inspired by the Gaelic word for “heart.” As Croí Health, we will still be the same non-profit organization you have always known, dedicated to expanding patient care access while maintaining the clinical excellence our patients and community have come to expect from us.

Have you been acquired or are you merging with another organization?

No, this change isn’t due to an acquisition or merger. We are still independently operated, focused on our non-profit mission and growth to serve as many patients as possible safely. The new name reflects both the heart of who we are today and where we are headed.

Is your mission changing? Are you still going to be a non-profit?

We’re still the same team, leadership, and values you know and trust on the South Shore. The only thing that’s changing is our name and look. Everything else—from our programs and quality standard of service to our commitment to you—remains the same. We will continue to serve the same Massachusetts communities as an independent non-profit with the same level of care.

Will the Pat Roche Hospice Home name change too?

No, the Pat Roche Hospice Home name will remain the same.

What happens to your website and email addresses?

As of December 1, our website will be croihealth.org. Our team email addresses will also be updated to @croihealth.org. Emails to our old addresses will be automatically forwarded.

Will my care be affected?

Your access to care and the team you receive it from remain completely the same. Nothing changes.

Will your social media accounts change?

Yes, our handles and profile names will update to @croihealth.

I love the old name! Why move away from it?

Our old name reflects our past and is a part of our legacy. Croí Health represents all that we do and our commitment to growth, and we are excited to enter this new chapter with you.

HOME CARE

PALLIATIVE CARE

Palliative care is a holistic, person-centered approach that improves quality of life and relieves the suffering of patients and families living with advanced illness support.

HOSPICE CARE

Hospice is not a place, but rather a concept of care that offers physical, emotional, social, and spiritual support for patients and families.
